When shopping for a contractor, I noticed Abstract Builder’s advertisement in a local magazine. The ad showed before and after pictures of a kitchen that resembled mine. My initial telephone conversation with Rob can best be described as straightforward. He said they didn’t have a showroom which helped them keep their costs down, he and his son-in-law did most of the work themselves, and his wife was the decorator to give the customer a start to finish look. When Rob and Teena came to our home the first time, they spent over three hours giving us remodeling ideas….almost overwhelming us! Teena and I traded numerous emails and came up with a game plan. After meeting with them again, we chose to go over our initial budget because it just made sense to do everything right the first time. As in most cases, one project leads to another and ours was no exception! Once the layout of the kitchen was decided on, Rob and Robert went to work! Teena and I continued to trade emails and I relied on her for suggestions in color scheme and all the little things that pull the room together….and in our case, several rooms together! We ended up painting other rooms, replacing interior doors, adding canned lighting, and moving furniture. The job that Abstract Builders did went above what could ever have been expected. When you have a 2 and 5 year old it's hard to imagine how you can go without a kitchen for even a day, but Rob and Teena made this process something we will never forget. Rob's constant attention to detail, the daily phone calls of support and suggestions, and the home made meals that Teena would send us because she understood what we were going through was more than we could have imagined. We plan on doing several more updates to our house and because of the hard work, and honesty that we got from Abstract Builders we are confident that they will be the ones who we choose in the future. I just wanted to let you know that Abrstract Builders are a very professional work team, and we are totally satisfied with our completed home improvement project. Our home is much safer and definitely more functional due to the wonderful renovations completed by Rob, Robert and Teena. I was so impressed with Abstract Builders when I had the opportunity to hire them in 2009. As the Construction Project Manager, for the Lenawee Housing Development Coalition’s “Legacy Housing” project located at 223 N. Broad St., Adrian, MI, I needed a builder who would go the extra mile. Abstract Builders did that and more. Working with a limited budget is never easy and since the project was being funded by a non-profit association I wanted to make absolutely every dollar stretch as far as possible. Abstract helped maximize the results! Between Teena helping to upgrade products and yet get lower prices and Rob utilizing his amazing carpentry skills and attention to details, the project came in with more amenities than we originally thought would be possible. Best of all we finished under budget and 2 weeks ahead of our deadline! Abstract Builders transformed an eyesore into a beautiful 7 unit complex that is now an asset to the surrounding community and a wonderful home. Thank you for everything you did, Kathy Williams |
